Axcient, the leading provider of data backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery services to the SMB market, is looking for a PHP Developer to be a key player in the development of the next generation web UI for Axcient’s data protection products and business continuity service.

We are seeking additional innovative PHP developers to join us on our mission to deliver leading-edge data protection & business continuity solutions that change the whole model of the way things have been done by the “Big Guys” of software and storage for the last 15 years.

Position Summary

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the PHP developer will be a key player in the development of the next generation web UI for Axcient’s data protection products and business continuity service.

Major Responsibilities

• Participate in the architecture, design and development of a slick, intuitive web UI
• Create wireframe demos for management and all key stakeholders
• Generate tight, efficient, high quality code base on Yii or other well known PHP framework
• Support the PHP user interface development for the Axcient data center

Experience and Skill Set

The ideal candidate will have recent, demonstrated experience delivering an intuitive, visually stimulating web UI for a commercially shipping product using PHP.

Meaningful, recent development experience with most of the following is required:

• Consumer centric web UIs where ‘ease of use’ is the key driver
• Three of more years of experience with Yii or a similar PHP framework
• Excellent familiarity with the PHP development environment
• Webservers
• Web services restful interfaces
• Website wire frames
• Ajax
• Html, xhtml
• CSS
• MySQL

Optional, but highly desirable skill sets:

• Experience with the Yii framework
• Good programming skills in java and/or c/c++
• Experience with svn and jira

Educational Background

This position requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
