Axcient, the leading provider of data backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery services to the SMB market, is looking for a Senior MAPI Developer to develop and enhance the Exchange backup and restore (EBR) features of the Axcient appliance application.

Position Description

Develop and enhance Exchange backup and restore (EBR) features for the Axcient appliance application. Work with Product Management to understand and assimilate product requirements. Utilize open source implementation of Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) to access Microsoft Exchange servers. Collaborate with Linux platform and Web UI engineers to integrate EBR capabilities into the Axcient solution.

Required Technology Skills

• Experience in MAPI protocol and MAPI acceleration technologies
• Expert in Unix Operating System concepts and internals as it pertains to TCP/IP Networking, with good understanding of the OSI protocol layers and excellent network application programming skills
• Comfortable with Linux development

Desired Technology Skills

• Experience in MAPI protocol and MAPI acceleration technologies.
• Exchange / MAPI development experience.
• Expert in C programming language, TCP/IP networking, socket programming API’s, Client/Server, pthreads, event-based Socket IO paradigms.
• Familiar with HTTP, FTP and similar web application protocols & web caching fundamentals.
• Familiar with Linux/kernel and Linux/networking stack.

Required Experience

• 5 years development engineering experience. Preferably in small company or start-up environments.
• BS in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent experience.
