Reverse Incremental Technology
Axcient reverse incremental technology offers the fastest and simplest way to retrieve backup data, whenever you need it.
In an incremental process, your entire system is captured during your first scheduled backup. During subsequent backup runs, you’re only saving data that has changed, and relating the new data to the previous backup.
The problem with the standard incremental process is that incremental updates are stored atop your most recent full backup. So if you want to recover your newest image, you have to wait for it to be reconstructed, which can be a long process. And if one of your incremental backups is corrupted, you can’t restore at all.
We solved this problem by reversing the process. Axcient stores your most recent server image atop older incrementals. Just like that, your newest data is easiest to access, whenever you need it. No reconstruction, no corruption. It’s one of the many Axcient-built technologies that make our solution the most complete, simple and reliable path to data and application uptime, all the time.
